Synopsis
Staccato is a peaceful village in the mountains. Hamel, a young man with a large violin, and his childhood friend, the girl Flute, were living there happily, but just before the village’s star festival they break the village’s taboo, “have nothing to do with outsiders”, to help a messenger of the magic kingdom, the Principality of Sforzando, who had been attacked by demons and lay collapsed, and their quiet days come to an end.
In truth, Flute is the princess of the Principality of Sforzando, heir to a holy bloodline, and the village of Staccato was nothing but a world of illusion: fifteen years ago, on the orders of Queen Horn, Sforzando’s loyal retainers used their holy power to raise a barrier between it and the outside world, to protect the newborn Flute from the demons. And the horn that suddenly appeared on Hamel’s head was the sign that the barrier had begun to fray.
Then, on the night of the star festival, demons break into the village of Staccato and attack, and every villager is killed. Leaving the burning village behind, Hamel and Flute set out for Sforzando, but an ominous air gathers around them, along with the mystery of the memories Hamel lost thirteen years ago. And that was the beginning of the two’s impossibly harsh fate, and of “the one endless road”.
