Synopsis
With the final-league game against Ryonan just ahead, the members of the Shohoku basketball team were throwing themselves into practice with even more fire than usual.
Then one day, Akane Mizusawa, a friend from junior high, comes to see Haruko Akagi at her home.
Akane’s younger brother, Ichirou, was the captain of the basketball team at Tomigaoka Junior High, the school Rukawa came from, and a player whose overflowing talent was said to be the best in Kanagawa. His dream was to win the national title together with Rukawa, the senior he looked up to.
But a sudden accident robbed him of that precious dream. He fell ill with a disease that is hard to treat, and his career as a player was cut short. Ichirou sinks to the depths of despair.
His last wish as a basketball player was to stand on the same court as Rukawa and play just one more time. Wanting somehow to grant her brother his wish, Akane had come to see Haruko.
Hearing Haruko’s request, Akagi and Rukawa are reluctant, but thanks to Coach Anzai the Shohoku basketball team will play an intrasquad game with Ichirou joining in.
Practice game or not, Hanamichi and Rukawa answer Ichirou’s burning basketball spirit and clash with all they have!
