Space Pirate Captain Harlock

Synopsis

In the year 2977, Earth had been united into a single nation, its civilization had made science all-powerful, and mankind was idling away its days in a lazy peace.

One day, from somewhere in space, a giant pennant was driven into a region of Japan. People took it for the work of the space pirate who had lately been appearing.

But they were wrong. The great pennant was a radio beacon that unknown aliens had driven in to mark their target for the invasion of Earth.

And two men noticed this. One was the old scientist Dr. Daiba, and the other was the space pirate Captain Harlock.

Then Dr. Daiba was murdered. The killing, of course, was the work of a henchman of Queen Rafflesia, who had driven in the pennant. Sure now that Earth is in danger, Harlock begins his battle against the Mazone space fleet.

Meanwhile, Dr. Daiba’s son Tadashi, convinced that Harlock is the killer, boards Harlock’s ship, the Arcadia. Through many battles, Tadashi Daiba little by little cleared up his misunderstanding of Harlock and grew greatly.
