Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa

Synopsis

Torn apart between two worlds, the Elric brothers were each searching for a way to meet again. The place where the elder brother, Edward Elric, had been thrown was the year 1923… Munich, Germany, heavy with the turmoil that would one day lead to a world war.

His alchemy, his great skill, sealed away, Ed was trying to return home through rocket engineering, the height of science and technology, with the help of Alfons Heiderich, a young man who bore his brother’s likeness. But no real clue turned up, and Ed grew ever more impatient.

Then a path opened before him in an unexpected way. It was the secret maneuvering of those who sought the utopia “Shamballa”. After Germany’s defeat in the First World War, ruinous inflation was spreading through Munich, and the discontented had begun to stir.

Through Hess, the rocket experiments of Alfons and his friends were being offered to the Thule Society, led by Haushofer. But the true aim they pursued was to use the occult and science together to open the way to Shamballa, and so form an exclusive nation of a single race.

Meanwhile, in Amestris, the world of alchemy, the same two years had passed. Roy Mustang of the military had become a common soldier on the northern border, and Armstrong had left the military to start a construction business.

And Ed’s younger brother, Alphonse Elric, who had regained his flesh-and-blood body through his brother’s transmutation but lost in exchange his memory of their four years of travel, was now 13. After training in alchemy all over again under his teacher Izumi, Al was journeying on, following his brother’s trail.

The brothers’ earnest wish is about to cross paths with an unprecedented event that will shake the world once again.
