Adieu Galaxy Express 999

Synopsis

What awaited Tetsuro Hoshino on his return to Earth was a bloody war between the mechanized humans and the few humans left alive. Under an old partisan, Tetsuro too had taken up arms and was fighting. Then one day, a message came from Maetel.

Tetsuro, board the Three-Nine…

Tetsuro boarded the 999 again and set off into the endless universe… The 999, utterly changed from the old days, was now fully computerized, and aboard was a new waitress with a machine body, Metalmina.

In time they reached the first stop, on the planet Rametal. It was Maetel’s birthplace. On that planet Tetsuro met a young man named Myauda and became his close friend, and from Myauda he heard an unbelievable rumor. “Maetel is Promethium herself. Maetel has succeeded Promethium.”
